Well we are wrapping everything up for the holidays! We will be open Monday the 19th from 11-4 and Thursday the 22nd from 11-6 and then it is a wrap! We will be CLOSED from 12/23 - 1/4 to spend time with our families and get ready for the new and exciting year to come. When we re-open on the 5th... all of Kay's Quitlers Stash items will be 50% off... now that is a lot of fabric... All scrapbooking items will be 50% off... and all Knitting Assesories (excluding yarn) will be 50% off. The store hours will be 11-6 that day. So stop in and buy yourself something nice with your Christmas money : )

I will be going back toH&R Block starting Jan 3... so for those of you who love Sharon Alker as much as I do, she will be taking over my Friday -Saturday hours for Jan, Feb and some of March... We are so excited to have her back... she is the scrapbooking Queen.

The beginning knitting class is full as of today. Please call to be put on a list, if you are still interested. That way if anyone cancels, we can slip you right in. The classes are such a demand we don't want a seat empty!

Market Street is out and about... On Oct 2 we will once again be at Starr Hill winery for a benefit... there is a lot going on there from 2-5, come out and enjoy a class of wine... while supporting a great cause!!!

Don't forget the Pumpkin festival downtown Clearfield Oct 8... it is only one day... so stop down after walking around town!

Upcoming classes for quilting...

Nov 10th make a 20 minute table runner... two great times either 2-4 or 6-8. Cost $10 + materials.

December 8th - Nannette's Taffy Pull Quilt same times as above. Cost is $15 + materials.

Knitting... new knitpick needles ordered... sock yarn brand new colors... new patterns for gloves... free with the purchase of yarn!

it is not that we are being lazy... for real : )... we are part of the downtown grant, therefore we are getting an awesome sign made! as soon as the rough draft is done we have an awesome layout for the front windows... to match the colors of the sign... as soon as it gets moving i will start putting photos up.

Quilting Classes

Beginning Quilter Class starts Sept 1 and runs through Oct 13th, day and evening classes available. Please stop in the store (especially on a thursday) for more details

A fun two class project: 5 yard quilt class. The cost is only $15 (plus material), the class starts Aug 18th, with day and evening class available.

Knitting Class Series is starting up again!!!

We have had a great year with the addition of knitting to our store! The next series is about to begin, however you must act fast. There was a waiting list at the store and with space limited, as of today we have 4 spots left. The series will start with the very basic knitting techniques and move you through the following:

101 Beginner Class - Aug 23
102 Scarf Class - September 13
103 Hat Class - September 27
104 Fireside Sock Class - October 13
105 Beginner Cable Class - November 1
106 Beginner Lace Class - November 15

All class times are 6:00 - 8:00 pm @ Market Street

**Please note:
You must master each techinque before moving to the next level.
If you sign up for the Beginner Class you are guarenteed a spot in the Scarf Class... and so on.
Make sure you speak to someone at the store to sign up.

I will be posting finished projects from the last 2 series. This will be the last series for 2011.

Art class for kids!

Does your child love to draw, paint and create?

On Saturdays starting 9/11:

-We'll explore basic drawing and painting techniques

-We'll learn an appreciation for, and about Art and Artists your child will become familiar with various painting styles, and individual examples from each. (Modern,
Impressionist etc.)

- we'll even try out some of these styles when we create our
own artwork inspired by their famous works!

We will be using “real” artists tools, and each child will
receive their very own kit including a portfolio,
sketchbooks,brushes and more!

Please wear “play” clothes, as some of these materials will stain.

Please send your child with an apron/coverall.

The cost of the class is 125$ for the ten week course, there is a 25$
materials fee that IS included in the cost of the class.

Odds and Ends

* For all sewing classes – All fabrics that are not included in your class are to be purchased from Kay's Quilter's Stash or Market Street. It is highly recommended that you bring your own sewing machine. If you do not have one, please let us know so that we can have on for you to borrow.

*Knitting 101-104 – You must know how to do the required techniques before you move on to the next level. Yarn and needles not supplied for the class must be purchased at Market Street. This is only for the ease of teaching... these classes will be taught by Linda Starr. All classes will have at least one finish up class. Those times will be determined during your class.

*Fine Art for KIDS – this course is a series of 10 classes. The cost of each class is $10. There is a $25 materials fee. Please note... this is not an “arts and crafts” class. It is teaching of famous painters and learning their techniques!

*All photography offers are good for pictures taken that month. If you order your prints in a different month the offer will still be available. One discount per sitting fee. There are no additional charges for on location, we can discuss options if your location is further than 25 miles from Clearfield. Please check out the website at www.jackjill.zenfolio.com . Offers are not good when photographs are taken for a sponsored event.. ie. Clearfield Soccer Association.

*Most projects will have a sample in the store! Feel free to stop in and see the project before signing up for the class.

6th – CROP. This will be a fun day of scrapbooking! Space is limited to 8. Cost $10 includes light snacks. Time 10am – 9 pm.

8th – Broom Stick Lace Scarf. The cost is $25 and includes first skein of yarn. Times 2-4 or 6-8.

13th – Sew a beautiful Christmas Project. More information on this class to follow. Please watch our blog and Facebook!

15th – Design a holiday jewelry piece. Again keep watching for more details on this class also.

17th – Knitting 104. In this class you will learn how to make wonderful winter socks. The cost of this class is $20 includes first skein of yarn. Time 6-8.

19th & 20th – Calendar Time. A calendar is a wonderful Christmas gift! During store hours tool, stamps, etc will be available to work on your 2011 Calendars. The cost is $5 and you will receive a 10% discount on all items purchased. Time is during regular business hours. Just stop in!

'Tis the time for family portraits or just of the kids! Receive 10% off of your print order when your pictures are taken in November. See store for more details.

7th -Beginner Quilting Class. This is a series of classes that will start from scratch and take you to finishing your very own quilt. The cost of the class is $40 plus all fabrics. Times 2-4 or 6-8.

9th – Bow Tucks Tote. Cost $30 plus fabric. Time 2-6.

13th – Knitting 102 – In this class you will learn the techniques for making the perfect scarf... Cost $20 includes first skein of yarn and needle. Time is 6-8.

15th – SALE SALE SALE more details to follow.

18th – Jewelry class that is currently being designed! Please watch our blog and facebook for further details!! Time 2-4 or 6-8.

25th – Hair Pin Lace Scarf . Cost $25 includes first skein of yarn and tool. Times 2-4 or 6-8. Class size is limited!

27th – Knitting 103 – In this class you will learn how to make an adorable winter hat. The cost is $20 and includes yarn. Flower is optional. Time 6-8.

Senior or family photos taken this month will receive a FREE 8x10.

September Classes!!!

You can stop in the store to pick up a calendar. Please call or stop during business hours to sign up!!!

1st – Starts the Block of the Month class. After 12 classes you will have completed 12 blocks to make a fabulous quilt. Cost $7.00* – Pick up will be only at Market Street.

16th & 23rd – Polish Pottery Runner. There is a class limit of 6... you will start the project on the 16th and finish on the 23rd. The cost is $10 plus fabric*. Times either 2-4 or 6-8.

20th – Charm Necklace Class Cost is $5 plus charms. In this class you will include several charms on a long chain for a trendy new statement. Times 2-4 or 6-8.

21st – Knitting 101*. This is a beginner class that you will make a beautiful dish cloth. You must understand all of the stitches and techniques from this class to attend the upper level classes. Cost is $12.00 includes yarn and needles. Time 6-8.

30th – Snap Bag. Cost is $10. Includes pattern & hardware. Time 2-4 or 6-8.

Senior Pictures taken this month will receive (8) FREE wallets with paid order. Plus the low $25 sitting fee

Fine Art Classes for KIDS (6- adult) will start this month. Please contact the store for additional information. Class size is VERY limited already! Classes will be on Saturdays.

Try your hand at Kumihimo braiding with wire. Learn how to use a Kumihimo disc, wire and beads to make a beautiful but easy bracelet. Class will be $15 and will include everything to make a bracelet. Call or stop by the store to sign up. Class will be on July 12th.

I have gotten soooo many comments on this bracelet at the store that I decided to have a class. If you wanted to try your hand at bead "weaving", this is a great technique to start with.The class will be $15 and will include beads, bead mat, needles, and stringing material. we decided that some of you will not have access to facebook, therefore we created this blog. instead of updating a calendar on our website, we will be updating class information on here.

we will also be listing sales and up coming events for the store on here. so make sure you check back often.

so to start out with a sale - all halloween and fall scrapbooking supplies will be 20% off on saturday oct 31 from 12-5.

if you have signed up for the purse class, Kay is going to be having the classes on Nov 16 from 12-3 and Nov 21 from 9-12. Kay will be calling you to set up your time.

paula set up her first coin purse class and it is full. she will be offering another one, so if you are still interested let us know.

my first crop is on nov 14 and it is full. i will be setting another one up really soon! also to let the cheerleading fans know the order is placed and i am still waiting for it. the 12X12 blank calendars and christmas papers should be in next week.
